Not your ordinary roses!

We know that certain flowers generally come in certain colors. Roses traditionally have come in a range of reds white, yellow, orange, and pinks for the most part.

Well, as you can see from these pictures these roses are anything but typical.

While some flowers have been engineered to grow in different colors through altering the pigment of flowers. These flowers have been produced through a unique dying process, which produces interesting effects changing the flowers natural hue.

Flower colors have certain meaning and different colors can express, or help define the mood or occasion. The blue roses here can symbolize calmness, security, passion and enthusiasms. The red, whit and blue flowers pictured on this page have been created to symbolize patriotism, while the rainbow roses can symbolize celebration and good times.

These multi colored roses are stunning to look at and are purely spectacular to see and are sure to spark lots of conversation.

Flower modification has been around for a long time, as many researchers have tried to create not just color changes but also new genus of flowers.

The technique used to produce these type of flowers isn’t that scientific or all that complex and doesn’t require a degree in biology.

In fact you can produce your own colorful arrangement with food coloring found in your kitchen cabinet.  White roses are the most widely used flowers to start with. Once you have the desired color dye the process begins by mixing the dye with a fair amount of water and soaking the stems in the dye solution until the petals start to absorb the colors. The best method for dying flowers also requires using a large plastic container. Techniques for deeper richer colors require leaving the stems in the color dye solution for longer periods of time to achieve the desired color effect.

The technique used to produce these colorful roses may take some practice so if you don’t have a lot of white roses to experiment with you may want to buy them from a florist who speciallize in creating these colorful arrangements. These particular bouquets are from FTD.com.

If you’re into buying flowers that will add a little pop to your home decor or think they might be a wonderful gift for a birthday or holiday event these flowers will certainly give you what you are looking.

Rainbow Roses

These aren’t you’re ordinary red, white or pink roses. Rainbow Roses are an incredible creation to say the least and would make your valentines day memorable when your special love sets their eyes on a bouquet of these flowers. Roses are supposed to spark passion, love and romance. (Language of Flowers) but the rainbow roses seem to elicit feelings of happiness and a zest for life.

These highly colourful flowers have been developed by a Dutch businessman who dyes each bloom in the colours of the rainbow. The dyes are produced from natural plant extracts and are absorbed by the flowers as they grow.

The rainbow roses were developed as a alternative to the traditional Valentine’s gift of red roses. But these eye catching petals will cost as much as $65 for a set of 12 roses. $Cha Ching!$

They’re not as popular in the U.S. but supposedly enjoy a strong following in Japan and in parts of Europe.
