March 9th, 2011 No comments

If you fancy Tulips then check out the ‘The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival’ from April1 – April 30. Perhaps you have never heard of it but every spring hundreds of thousands of people travel to this Pacific Northwest town to enjoy the celebration of spring as millions of tulips burst into bloom.

The Tulip festival in Skagit, WA is a showcase of Skagit Valley agriculture. The festival was officially inaugurated in 1984 by the Mount Vernon Chamber of Commerce. Members of the Chamber took note that this event drew thousands of people yearly to view the tulips in bloom and later decided to add events and festivities to enhance the visitors’ trip to the Skagit Valley. Tulip Festival is now its own entity and no longer under the Chamber of Commerce.

After 28 years the festival has welcomed people from across the United States and from around the world to admire the beauty of the flowers and to marvel at nature’s creation.
