Common Get Well Soon Messages You Can Use

Not sure what to say when you wish to convey your message of sympathy and encouragement to a friend or family member who has fell ill. Your message will depend on the condition and relationship you have with the person receiving the gift.

To send a general message, write a poem, or use your own sentiments to express your feelings. You can even ask your local or online florist for sample get well soon messages. Buying a card that expresses your get well soon thoughts can be an easy and quick option as well but what you put in your card should be appropriate.

Here are some messages you can use based on two levels of illness, that being minor illness and a serious illness.

For a minor illness, simply send a get well soon message, and let them know you are thinking of them. Here are some examples:

  • You are in my thoughts.
  • We miss you here at work.
  • Sending happy thoughts your way so you'll feel better soon.
  • Warm wishes for a speedy recovery.
  • GET WELL! That's an order
  • Winners never quit... they recover.
  • Get well soon. What else do you have to do?
  • You have places to go, people to see, lots of fun times to be enjoyed. Get well soon.
  • Sending a cheerful wish... Hope you are feeling better soon.
  • Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
  • Just a friendly wish that you will be feeling better soon.

For a serious illness the message should reflect your care and concern. The wording you use should say "get well" only if there is a good chance of recovery. Sentiments expressing that they are in your thoughts are more appropriate.

  • May family and friends bring you strength, comfort, and support to get well quickly
  • Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you during your recovery.
  • Here's a little something to brighten your day. Thinking of you.
  • You are in our prayers and thoughts.
  • I admire your strength and courage. Please let me know if I can do anything to help out.
  • So sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. I'm thinking of you.
  • May this gift brighten your day and lift your spirits in every way.
