Meaning Of Lisianthus Flowers

LisianthusThe lisianthus are recognized by wide ruffled, delicate petals and oval leaves, in colors ranging from white to pink, lavender to purple and bicolors such as blue-violet. Lisianthus are said to symbolize appreciation.

With names ranging from Texas Bluebell to Prairie Gentian to Lira de San Pedro the lisianthus can also symbolize an outgoing nature.

These flowers are Native to Texas and Mexico, and descended from a North American wildflower, in their single-form variety, lisianthus may resemble tulips or poppies. In their double form, they can take on the appearance of roses or peonies.

Lisianthus are mostly found in warm regions of the Southern United States, Mexico, Caribbean and northern South America. They can be found growing in grassland and areas of disturbed ground.

The lisianthus are long-lasting flowers are a often used in floral bouquets. They have a vase life of seven to 10 days.
