Send Flowers to Someone With a Purpose

How many of us consider the meaning behind the flowers we send. We just might be overlooking one of the most essential pieces to buying flowers, which is the language behind the flowers.

You probably will not see the meaning of the flowers you buy online on the description page or on the check out page when you place your order. But wouldn't it be nice to know the underlying meaning of the flowers you are buying.

For those who don't care - fine, go ahead purchase that bouquet of roses, tulips, or potted sunflowers. I'm sure who ever is on the receiving end will probably not care because they are obviously visually beautiful - right.

But what if you knew those sunflowers symbolize pure and lofty thoughts, loyalty and longevity. Would you then change your mind or continue knowing this would be perfect for my starry-eyed idealistic friend. Sunflowers are also known for more then just its symbolism but for their ability to provide energy and nourishment much like the sun.

Roses come in a variety of different colors and symbolize different emotions and connotations. There is no guessing involved when someone receives a dozen red roses. Red roses symbolize true love and we generally associate them with love and romance and are most popular during Valentines Day.

The next time you send flowers how much more planning will go into your next order. Will you consider the language of the flowers and what they symbolize or just buy what ever looks nice and fits your budget? I know I'm guilty of just buying flowers that really looks nice, never mind what they mean.

The language of flowers dates back to antiquity and has been used as a means of communication in many cultures. During the Victorian period historians believed, various flowers were often used to send coded messages, to express feelings which otherwise could not have be spoken.

Flowers are inherently pleasant to look at and can elicit smiles or warm feelings regardless of what the mean. But what if you wanted to go those extra miles of not only buying flowers that look great but actually make a genuine connection to the recipient.

There is an entire language of flowers defining what flowers symbolize. If you want to do more than just send flowers and actually communicate a message with the flowers you send find out what the mean. It may add a little excitement to the endeavor the next time you send flowers.
